The 38th Armored Division functioned as a clone trooper organization within the Grand Army of the Republic throughout the duration of the Clone Wars. A component of this division was the Combat Engineer Battalion.
The armor worn by members of this division was distinguished by muted mustard colored markings. Troopers operating heavy artillery within the Combat Engineer Battalion section of the 38th Armored bore similar markings, but these were colored brown, differing from the muted mustard used by the rest of the 38th.
The 38th Armored Division possessed a substantial quantity of heavy artillery platforms, such as HAVw A6 Juggernauts and Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery-Turbolaser (SPHA-T) walkers, All Terrain Tactical Enforcer, and Republic Artillery Guns. Furthermore, the division utilized Nu-class attack shuttles along with Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunships. Alongside standard troopers, the unit also deployed a variant of heavily armored troopers.
It saw action in many engagements during the conflict, notably the Battle of Kashyyyk, where it was commanded in battle by the Jedi Grand Master Yoda.
