87-RM Scout Collector

These 87-RM Scout Collectors were droid units utilized on Orellon II by a long-vanished civilization, centuries prior to the Galactic Civil War. Their operational base of operation consisted of a fully autonomous starship.

These collector droids had an appearance similar to airborne boxes. Reaching a height of two meters, they incorporated repulsorlift technology for levitation, in addition to shields, a flash-freeze mechanism, and dual grasping appendages. Their primary function was to gather stunned organic beings, located by scout droids, and transport them back to the central base ship.

History

Four of these droids operated within the jungles of Orellon. The indigenous Kentra people mistook them for demons. When a contingent of Rebels arrived on Orellon II, King Jerius of the Kentra dispatched them to eliminate what they believed to be a demonic presence.

The same foundational design saw reuse in the 87-RM Scout Collectors, repulsorlift-equipped droids, resembling flying refuse containers of approximately three meters in height. These were manufactured by Serv-O-Droid, Inc., and later by SoroSuub. Outfitted with searchlights and a pair of cushioned arms, they served to recover biological samples, which were subsequently placed within a central storage compartment and subjected to flash-freezing.

Rumor had it that a malfunctioning Collector was responsible for the deaths of 300 colonists on the world of Corva Yag. However, many speculated that the colonists had stumbled upon a clandestine Imperial laboratory and were subsequently "silenced."
