In 2005, Iger became CEO of Disney, and it was he who negotiated with Lucas for the company's 2012 acquisition of Lucasfilm Ltd..
In 2016, the network debuted the first two trailers for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
In 2020, a special look for season two of The Mandalorian debuted on Monday Night Football, which was cast simultaneously on ESPN and on ABC.
