The Seeker AS-M12 represented a variation of messenger droids, specifically crafted by Arakyd Industries.

The form factor of the Seeker AS-M12 was a sphere, and its dimensions were less than that of a fully grown Human. To facilitate movement above ground, it incorporated repulsorlifts. The programming of these droids was geared toward efficiently locating recipients and delivering messages. Their transport across hyperspace typically involved the use of hyperdrive pods, which are droid-controlled pods equipped with hyperdrives designed for one-way journeys.
Furthermore, it featured sophisticated audio and visual receptors, along with a deployable manipulator arm employed for tasks like door operation and turbolift usage. For accessing public information networks, it was equipped with a computer input jack.

Upon successfully locating the intended recipient, a spoken passcode is required before the droid proceeds to play back the message. A holoprojector is used to display visual information, while a vocabulator processes and filters audio data. These particular droids were expensive, with each unit carrying a price tag of 24,000 credits.
On occasion, these droids found alternative use as clandestine assassins, with explosives concealed within their internal compartments. However, this inventive strategy sometimes yielded unfavorable consequences for the instigator, as the droid maintained an unalterable record of its deployment origin, thereby enabling it to autonomously navigate back to its starting point.
