An abandoned Wookiee village was located on the planet of Kashyyyk, at a short distance north of Kachirho. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, this village was already abandoned for a long time. However, sometime after the Battle of Yavin, Wookiees afflicted by a strange new disease gathered in the village. The illness gave rise to a madness which compelled the anguished Wookiees to attack anyone who approached them. As these Wookiees became dangerous, the Galactic Empire issued bounties, via bounty officer Stren Colo, for the crazy Wookiees. Various adventurers therefore attacked the village to kill insane Wookiees and claim the Imperial bounties. Eventually, in 1 ABY, a spacer working for a woman named Sera Jossi visited the village and killed the Wookiee Wrhisch, one of the first to come under the sickness. Wrhisch's liver later allowed a Wookiee bio-engineer, Doctor Cheyerooto, to develop a cure.
The abandoned Wookiee village appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. The village was added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Rage of the Wookiees on May 5, 2005.
