On Aram, each akia controlled their own cities and territories, with zones open to members of other akia and even offworlders. They also maintained private areas reserved for the members of the akia. The capital, Talerakia, was shared by all akia and was divided into four areas, each one controlled by an individual clan. All akia answered to a neutral ruler known as the Taal.
