Algunnis was a binary star in the Algunnis system, located within the Mid Rim's Trax sector. The star system had no planets, but boasted a large asteroid belt, which orbited the two suns.
Imperial scientists theorized that when the galaxy was forming, Algunnis traveled past several star systems and captured planets. The extreme gravitational stresses reduced the planets to rubble, forming a massive asteroid field. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, the belt was devoid of settlements, but was home to space slugs.
