Sachs worked as a professional actress, mostly on the stage, beginning in 1969. In 1992 she co-founded a design company, Sachs Morgan Studio, with her husband, working as president and CEO until the end of 2012. Later she served for a time as vice president of the board of directors of the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York.
