Filters known as atmospheric scrubbers were implemented within life support systems. The Roamer-6 breath mask incorporated six integrated layers of these scrubbers within its air purification unit; these layers were capable of removing a variety of threats, such as hazardous gases, particulate dust, pollen, and microscopic pollutants.
