Automaintenance Crew 28-G was a droid maintenance crew on Cloud City, consisting of a number of MSE-6 series repair droids, which operated during the time of the Galactic Empire. When former Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian attempted to rescue his aide Lobot from Cloud City, the cyborg, who was connected to the city's Central Processing, transmitted orders to the droids of Automaintenance Crew 28-G, who were undertaking repairs on Level 110. The droids were instructed to attack the Imperial stormtroopers attempting to break into the control center, allowing Calrissian to rescue Lobot.

In 3 ABY, during the time of the Galactic Empire, Automaintenance Crew 28-G was performing repairs on Level 110 of Cloud City. As the droids worked, they were contacted by Lobot, the cyborg computer-liaison officer and aide to former Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian, who had been connected into the Cloud City's Central Processing following the Galactic Empire's occupation of the city.
Lobot, intending to protect Calrissian, who had returned to Cloud City to rescue him, from a number of Imperial stormtroopers, provided the droids of Automaintenance Crew 28-G with new instructions, calling them away from their maintenance and down to Level 109, where the stormtroopers were attempting to force their way into Central Processing. The MSE series droids attacked and incapacitated the stormtroopers, allowing Calrissian to free Lobot, though several of the droids sustained damage in the attack.
