The droid was equipped with various tools, including a spotlight and a holoprojector. He used both of these tools to aid in building Din Djarin's customized N-1 starfighter.
The droid first appeared in "Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian," the fifth episode of the live-action television series The Book of Boba Fett. It was first identified as BD-72 in The Mandalorian Experience exhibition in Celebration Anaheim in 2022.
