Initially utilized by the Trade Federation during the Naboo Crisis, battle droids later served as a primary military force for the Separatists throughout the Clone Wars. For certain adversaries of the Republic, the sheer quantity of droids produced in various models outweighed their technological shortcomings. These limitations were gradually addressed in newer battle droid versions, with some, like droidekas and super battle droids, proving to be significantly more formidable adversaries. Baktoid Workshops, the initial creator of the first battle droids, continued to produce numerous other war droid models over the years, even collaborating with the Galactic Empire.
