Betolo was a male Human servant of the Dessain family. Though he wished to be member of the Dessain family, he was instead made a servant. He wanted something of his own, and wanted to get off Zerist. So he helped Volnos Ryo kidnap Oma Dessain, daughter of Eomin Dessain. And he later also tried to poison Lanoree Brock. But Lanoree found out about his helping in the kidnapping.
