Blaster power packs or energy packs were energy storage devices which supplied power to a blaster. During their funerals, fallen members of the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry had power packs drained in their honor. During the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY, Private Emon Kref used an A295 blaster rifle with a blaster power pack which had a tendency to fall out, a problem Kref attempted to solve with tape.
Blaster power packs first appeared in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, written by Alexander Freed. They were later identified as energy packs in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story novelization written by Alexander Freed.
