Blazer bombs were devastating incendiary explosives used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. In 22 BBY, the Cadesura district of Zarra, the capital city of the planet Cato Neimoidia, was destroyed in a bombing which used both Separatist and Galactic Republic munitions, including scaled-down blazer bombs. When Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi was sent to investigate the disaster, he learned from Neimoidian Royal Guard Ruug Quarnom that a contact of hers had discovered evidence that blazer bombs had been used. In conjunction with the evidence of Republic involvement, Kenobi and Quarnom determined that the bombing must have been carried out by a third party attempting to play both sides of the Clone Wars.
During the Separatist occupation of the planet Ryloth, blazer bombs deployed via Hyena-class Droid Bombers were used to firebomb the villages of the native Twi'leks.
Blazer bombs first appeared in "Liberty on Ryloth," the twenty-first epsiode of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars first season, which originally aired on March 13, 2009. They were first identified in the hyena bomber's entry in StarWars.com's now-discontinued Encyclopedia.
