When the Alderaanian Resistance discovered that the Sarlacc Project, a secret Imperial project to construct a Super Star Destroyer prototype, was based on the planet Byss, a combined Resistance and smuggler fleet was dispatched to destroy the prototype. Blue Squadron was formed to participate in the battle and was cobbled together from a number of different smuggler starfighters. It was commanded by Captain Adrian Verana of the Resistance, and the Resistance officer Captain Sirona Okeefe was also a member of it. The squadron fought during the battle and after suffering some casualties, the eleven surviving starfighters flew into the superstructure of the Star Destroyer and destroyed it.
