Bondara's Folly was a brown lightsaber crystal that caused the blade of a lightsaber to take on a light-brown hue. When properly tuned by a Force-sensitive for use in a lightsaber, it became a focusing crystal and could only be used in lightsabers constructed by the individual who tuned it.
Bondara's Folly was a unique lightsaber crystal and shared its name with Anoon Bondara, a Twi'lek Jedi Master who was regarded as one of the finest fighters and lightsaber duel instructors in the Jedi Order around the time of the Battle of Naboo.
Sometime after the Battle of Yavin, during the Galactic Civil War, a spacer began collecting disparate crystal fragments from various planets across the galaxy—some rare, some mundane—and combined them to form rarer crystal shards. Once having collected all the various shards, the spacer combined them to form Bondara's Folly.
Bondara's Folly was one of the many unique lightsaber color crystals available to players in the 2003 massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. It was one of four possible rewards from a series of in-game collections.
This particular series of collections required the player to collect various crystal fragments of different types—which could be found as loot from a wide variety of enemies in the game—and combine them with each other. Doing so produced a single shard required for another series of four collections. Once all of the second set of shards were collected, the player could choose as a reward either the crystal or one of four bracelets used for protection against various damage types. Hotfix 21.3 added raids to the game, causing high-level creatures to attack various cities and settlements in the game. Hotfix 21.4 added the possibility of obtaining rare loot items for defeating these enemies, including Bondara's Folly. When used in the player's lightsaber, the crystal caused a portion of the inflicted damage to be of the acid type, and once tuned, the crystal could only be used by that player.
