Brock Peters (July 2, 1927 – August 23, 2005) voiced Darth Vader in the Star Wars radio adaptations.
Born George Fisher in New York, Peters set out for a career in show business at an early age. His film career began in 1954, with a role in the film Carmen Jones. As a film actor, his best-known roles were Tom Robinson in To Kill a Mockingbird and Admiral Cartwright in the Star Trek feature films Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Perhaps his most memorable television role was Joseph Sisko, the father of Benjamin Sisko on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In addition to his role as Darth Vader, he lent his distinctive voice to many characters as a voice actor.
Peters died of pancreatic cancer at his home in Los Angeles on August 23, 2005.
In 2015, archival recordings of Peters as Vader were used in the Episode IV: A New Hope Read-Along Storybook and CD.
