Brylin was a Human male who served as Spokesman for the ruling Herdessan Guild on his home planet of Herdessa during the Galactic Civil War. In 4 ABY, after the Galactic Empire's climactic defeat at Endor, Brylin led the Herdessan Guild in meeting with a delegation from the Alliance of Free Planets to establish formal diplomatic relations. Arrogant in the Herdessan Guild's control of the world and an enthusiastic participant in the Herdessan practice of slavery, Brylin and his confederates instead took Alliance leader Mon Mothma, intending to deliver her and the world to an Imperial remnant force. However, fellow Alliance diplomat Leia Organa led an armed Herdessan revolt that overthrew the Herdessan Guild's power and toppling Brylin's scheme.
