During the Galactic Civil War fought by the Empire against the Rebel Alliance, Imperial spies used the CAP-2 Captivator to capture unsuspecting Rebels. Bounty hunters often also used the walkers to capture their targets. Bossk was one such bounty hunter who used a CAP-2 Captivator for that purpose.
The CAP-2 Captivator was created in 1982 for Kenner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back toy line. The figure's packaging showed Bossk using the walker to capture Rebel Colonel Ledick Firest and deliver him to the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader.
