The Cavern of the Serpents was a cavern located deep within the Great Well of Ophideraan that served as the breeding ground and birthplace of the flying serpent species that dominated Ophideraan's skies. The cavern, which was beneath the living facilities of the Serpent Masters' slaves, was often visited by desperate captives hoping to claim a serpent for their own and fly to freedom. In every case, they were captured by Supreme Serpent Master Tyrann, and—with the exception of Rebel agent Luke Skywalker in 0 ABY—immediately killed.
