Chiss Syndicure

The Chiss Syndicure was the supreme ruling body of the Chiss Ascendancy, and was composed of the Aristocra's Nine Ruling Families. Members of the Syndicure were known as Syndics.

The Syndicure had both executive and legislative authority over the Ascendancy and served as collective head of state of the Chiss. The Syndicure was meant to have no power over the operations of the Chiss Defense Force and its naval branch, but in practice, this separation of powers was sometimes violated.

The political body called the Aristocra was a part of the Syndicure which included representation from the Forty Great Families.

Before 318 BBY, conflicts between rival Chiss families were common, but ended with the creation of the modern Syndicure.
