The Coruscant Cooler was a cocktail that originated on Coruscant, a city-covered planet in the Core Worlds, when it was seen as the galaxy's cultural center prior to the Galactic Empire's formation. Based on another classic cocktail, the red-colored beverage was a fruity mix of several alcohols and juices that was served over ice. It was suitable for human consumption.
The drink was served at Oga's Cantina and at Ronto Roasters in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu in 34 ABY. Sometime after the Battle of Takodana in 34 ABY, Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs published a recipe for the beverage in his cookbook The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook. He described its flavors as "sophisticated," and considered the cocktail a reflection of the intermingled cultures and customs of the nearly one trillion inhabitants of Coruscant. In Tuggs' cookbook, the beverage was pictured with a fruit garnish and served with a large ice cube.
On August 1, 2019, an article on the official Disney Parks Blog announced that Coruscant Coolers would be available at the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge as a drink exclusive to Disney's Hollywood Studios. The drink debuted on August 29 with the opening of the Disney's Hollywood Studios version of Ronto Roasters, which has no alcoholic options in its Disneyland Park incarnation. The drink was later added to Disneyland's version of Oga's Cantina, which serves alcohol. The menu description of the drink says: "Maker's Mark Bourbon, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, Cranberry, Lime Juice."
A recipe for the beverage is included in the 2019 cookbook Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, which was written by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak. It is made with the ingredients cranberry juice, bourbon, lime juice, sweet vermouth, and dark cherry puree; the drink is then garnished with a lime wedge and served over a single large ice cube. Coruscant Coolers originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity with the 2004 novel MedStar I: Battle Surgeons, written by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry.
