Coruscant Security Special Investigation Panel

The Coruscant Security Special Investigation Panel was a panel of officials in the Coruscant Security Force, which operated on the planet Coruscant during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. They investigated incidents where law enforcement personnel, including Jedi, used deadly force and they would then decide if it had been legal to use such force or not. If the person was a criminal with a bounty and was terminated legally, the Special Investigation Panel would award the person who had terminated the criminal with the promised bounty.

The Coruscant Security Special Investigation Panel was mentioned in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by BioWare in 2011. During the mission "Stolen Secrets," the player can choose to terminate Vistis Garn for dark side points. If the player chooses to do so, the Special Investigation Panel sends the player a message stating they investigated Vistis' case file and declared the termination to be legal. They then offer the bounty to the player.
