A Crippler net was a weapon used by the Chiss Defense Force. When a Crippler net hit an enemy starship, it released a jolt of electricity that disabled the ship's capabilities. The Springhawk was equipped with Crippler nets. Crippler nets discharged electricity to the hulls of starships they impacted, similar to but weaker than plasma spheres. Also unlike plasma spheres, Crippler nets could not chase down their targets as they were launched with gas propulsion.
