He participated in Senior Captain Thrawn's last stand over the Sunrise system, where he played a major role by carrying the Vagaari gravity well projector in a Paccian gunboat. He was promoted to Senior Captain and gained command of the Parala after the battle, as Ziinda and Supreme General Ba'kif believed he deserved the promotion.
Some time after the Nikardun conquests, the Grayshrike's commander, Senior Captain Xodlak'in'daro (Lakinda) told Apros that she would be leaving the Grayshrike to respond to a Xodlak family emergency summons on Celwis. She also tasked Apros with giving Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo (Thrawn), commander of the Chiss ship Springhawk, a metal brooch. After being made commander of the Grayshrike, Apros would be sent to help Thrawn in his hunt for Vagaari pirates. He would establish contact with Thrawn during a Watith plot to trap and destroy the Springhawk, and Thrawn instructed Apros to wait the Springhawk's arrival at their destination to help defeat the Watith. There, the Grayshrike would make its appearance to the Watith freighter, distracting them while the Springhawk disabled it with plasma spheres. The freighter and gunboats remotely piloted by the Watith were then captured by the Chiss. Apros then asked to come aboard the Springhawk to discuss the matters at hand. While aboard, Apros makes Thrawn aware of the Xodlak emergency summons. He also informs the Senior Captain that two other families, the Erighal and Pommrio, have called their own family emergencies. Apros would also give Thrawn the metal brooch, noting that the Xodlak family on Celwis showed official interest in it. Thrawn and Apros made the connection between the Xodlak interest of the jewelry and the Xodlak family emergency summons and determined to intervene in whatever trouble was awaiting the Xodlak, Erighal, and Pommrio.
Apros and Thrawn attempted to contact Lakinda aboard her Xodlak family fleet. When she eventually answers, Apros and Thrawn ask her if her family emergency relates to alien jewelry and if she is aware that the Erighal and Pommrio families have also called family emergencies. Lakinda is shocked to learn of this information, and Thrawn would warn her that the Agbui, the species who claim to have made it, are scamming the Xodlak. Lakinda informed the two officers that her mission is to capture a supposed Agbui nyix (an exceedingly rare and valuable metal used in the brooches) mine on the world of Hoxim. Thrawn, recognizing the imminent threat of a civil war breaking out between the three families, offered a plan to stop it. He stated that the Grayshrike and Springhawk would arrive at Hoxim early and coordinate a fake attack (with the Watith gunboats they had captured) on the Springhawk. The three families would then work together to save the Springhawk before attacking each other. Apros and Lakinda reluctantly agreed to the plan.
Upon arriving at Hoxim, the Springhawk and Grayshrike would get into their positions and wait for the arrival of the three family fleets. When they arrived, the Springhawk made itself visible, appearing to be under attack by the fourteen Watith gunboats. These gunboats would then converge on the Chiss ships, and Lakinda would unite the three families to fight this threat and to save the Springhawk. Later, Thrawn would signal for the Grayshrike to make its appearance and help the Xodlak, Erighal, and Pommrio fight the gunboats. After the Grayshrike appeared and started its attack, two gunboats retreated and, together with the Watith freighter, crashed into the supposed nyix mine on the surface. Thrawn's plan was a success, as no civil war had broken out between the three families. Apros would later be lionized by all three families for his timely assistance.
