Customs Inspectors were trained to find illegal and contraband items, and their skills were likened to that of bloodhounds. However, not all Customs Inspectors were committed to their job, and could be bribed to look the other way. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, free-traders found that one of their major operating expenses were paying bribes to inspectors.
