Cygnus B system

The Cygnus B system was home to giant algae-beds—immobile, sentient life-forms that were classified as a super-brain. By 0 BBY, Luke Skywalker, a young man from the Outer Rim Territories planet Tatooine, had seen pictures of the giant algae-beds from the Cygnus B system.

The Cygnus B system was created by John Chesterman for "Cantina Communications," a one-page vignette included in the sixteenth issue of the Star Wars Official Poster Monthly magazine, published in 1979 by Paradise Press. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas provided a shortened designation for the system and placed it in grid square R-11.
