DL-X2 was a droid created as part of the Star Tours ride for Disneyland in California. Hasbro released DL-X2 as an exclusive Star Tours action figure.
The DL-X2's design was reused and modified prop of a character from the 3rd season of the TV police drama series Hill Street Blues, TK4600. The TK4600, and by extension, the DL-X2's design, was created by Disney Imagineering.
