A faction of Dark Jedi and Sith opposed a band of Jedi after both groups crash-landed on the planet Kesh after 6900 BBY. The opposing groups caused untold destruction to the world and its native inhabitants, the Keshiri. Realizing the consequences of their actions—a period later referred to as the Great Calamity—the members agreed to a truce. One member of the dark side faction refused, however: the Sith Lord Remulus Dreypa. His fellow dark siders thus locked him in an oubliette. The two sided merged forces to form the Doomed, moving to the polar continent Eshkrene to watch over the Keshiri.
