Dave Land was the lead editor of Star Wars comic books published by Dark Horse Comics for approximately five years.
David "Dave" Land also wrote and starred in short introductory strips in most of his issues of Star Wars Tales, as well as Boba Fett: Agent of Doom. These were penciled mainly by Lucas Marangon, who also penciled for several of the stories in Star Wars Tales.
During the course of these Tales, he has been frozen in carbonite twice by Boba Fett, once for attempting to remove Fett's helmet, and once as payback for the freezing in carbonite Fett himself suffered in the Star Wars Infinities: The Empire Strikes Back (which Land wrote), where his carbonite-frozen form is used as a desk by Lando Calrissian. On the latter occasion, Land pleads with Fett to let him go as the "Infinities Series is non-canon, and therefore never happened."
