Deke was a clone cadet who became a prisoner of the Galactic Empire shortly after the end of the Clone Wars. Deke and many other cadets were transferred off their home planet Kamino and brought to a secret Imperial medical laboratory overseen by Doctor Royce Hemlock. There, samples of the clones' blood were taken for experimentation.
When the Empire lost control of an experimental weapon at the facility, they began to evacuate their forces there. During the evacuation, Deke and his brothers Mox and Stak escaped. Shortly after, the Empire called an orbital bombardment to eliminate all evidence of their operations there. Deke and the others made a camp in the surrounding forest and using their training to stay alive together.
At one point, Deke and Stak encountered Hunter and Wrecker near the northern ridge, who were searching for Hemlock's laboratory as part of their search for their lost squad-mate. Deke and Stak led them back to camp, where they spoke with Mox, who had some idea of Hemlock's presence when the facility had been operational. Hunter suggested looking inside the ruins of the laboratory for information, and although Stak and Mox refused and said such a venture would be a suicide mission, Deke declared that he would help them.
After being freed from their solitude on Setron, the three young clones were taken to refuge on Pabu. They later ate ice cones there. After CX-2 destroyed the Marauder, Hunter told Mox and Stak to evacuate Wrecker to Shep's home for treatment, while Deke was assigned to get AZI-3 to treat Wrecker's injuries.
Deke first appeared in The Bad Batch Season 3's second episode, "Paths Unknown." He was voiced by Julian Dennison.
