The Denfrandi were a tribe of Humans native to Taloraan, who were generally friendly towards strangers. They lived aboard airships called sleft-chuffni, which were in reality domesticated creatures inhabiting the higher atmosphere of Taloraan with gondolas attached to them.
The Denfrandi typically wore heavy wrappings, so as to protect themselves against the harsh winds of Taloraan, and would always carry grappling hooks used to swing themselves from gondola to gondola. They would also use them as weapons if necessary.
The creation myth of their society indicates that the Humans on Taloraan were originally travelers aboard a starship who crashed on the planet, but somehow managed to survive and domesticate many of the Taloraanian creatures, and establish primitive tribal societies along with Taloraan City.
In 21 BBY, the magister of Taloraan City, Orlin Denache, signed a treaty with the Confederacy of Independent Systems. However, the treaty was shattered with the arrival of Jedi Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano, who subsequently defeated the Separatist forces.
The Denfrandi, under the leadership of chief Laspevar made contact with the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War when Laspevar saved Rebel prospectors looking for alternative sources of tibanna now that Bespin had fallen under Imperial rule. The Rebels' ship, the Jackpot, had been severely damaged during an atmospheric storm, and Laspevar managed to rescue the Rebels before the Jackpot crashed.
Subsequently, the Rebels also made contact with the Wind Raiders, a less friendly tribe of Humans, who were in the possession of a starship. The Denfrandi helped the Rebels acquire the starship so they could make it off the planet.
