Schematics of the Diligence.
The ship started out as the Devaronian space cruise liner Vichary Telk and was retrofitted by the Brigade to carry 3,000 troops as well as their artillery guns.
The Diligence was mounted on top of two massive retro-rockets attached on either side of its hull. Each of these two engines was at the center of a cluster of four large cargo modules. These could detach with their cargo to land on the battlefield while the gunners disembarked separately. Cannons too big to fit inside the pods, were fastened to the outside and could be used as makeshift "battering rams".
The ship had a command deck up front and a topside deck for artillery spotters that had been used as a sightseeing deck in its civilian days.
The vessel was commanded by Ryland Dackett. Its name was an homage to the Inexpugnable-class tactical command ship Diligence.
