Dogfight in the Hudalla system

The dogfight in the Hudalla system, also known as the raid on the Hudalla system, occurred around 4 ABY shortly before the Battle of Endor when the Rebel Alliance discovered a meeting of the Imperial Navy. Corona Squadron was ordered to survey the system, and five of their X-wings waited for several days to gather intelligence.

The Galactic Empire suspected a rebel presence, and sent four TIE/IN interceptors to root them out. Admiral Firmus Piett gave Commander Ciena Ree secret orders to let at least one of the Rebels escape. The Rebel pilots noticed the approaching starfighters, and began preparations to jump to hyperspace.

The TIEs got into range and fired on the X-wings, starting a short dogfight in which one TIE and one X-wing were destroyed. At one point, Commander Ree had to put herself in front of Commander Nash Windrider in order to fulfill her orders. They were both congratulated by Piett, as the dogfight allowed the Rebels to be drawn into a trap soon after at Endor.

The dogfight appears in Claudia Gray's 2015 canon Star Wars novel Lost Stars.
