Don LaFontaine (August 26, 1940–September 1, 2008) was a voice actor famous for his work in over 5,000 movie trailers and hundreds of thousands of television and radio commercials. Known for his frequent use of the phrase "In a world...," LaFontane parodied himself on numerous occasions, including a GEICO commercial which LaFontaine said changed his life, having attached a face and name to his well-known voice.
LaFontaine was the narrator of the 1995 VHS release of The Making of Star Wars, which was a mail-in prize offered by the Kellogg Company. His voice replaced that of the original narrator, William Conrad. For the Special Edition re-release of the original trilogy in 1997, LaFontaine recorded several TV-spots and commercials, as well the behind-the-scenes introductions for the VHS releases.
