Doppelgänger of Dooku

A doppelgänger of Dooku, seemingly identical to the real Count Dooku although less adept in the Force, served the Confederacy of Independent Systems as one of the real Dooku's Dark Acolytes during the Clone Wars.

Biography

The doppelgänger is defeated by Anakin.

Early in the Clone Wars, the Senate Bureau of Intelligence tracked Count Dooku's sporadic appearances across the galaxy. Dooku's elusiveness and omnipresence led many to believe that the Count had cloned himself. In reality, Count Dooku was using the Dopplegänger Force power to manifest short-lived duplicates of himself. Ten months after the First Battle of Geonosis, a dopplegänger was assigned to guard Techno Union Foreman Wat Tambor's C-B3 cortosis battle droid factory on the planet Metalorn, and was killed trying to defend it from Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker. Later in the war, Dooku had learned that Skywalker had killed another clone of Count Dooku of Serenno, thinking of him as another changeling, another Dooku abandoned by his parents, left to be chopped up by some upstart Jedi butcher in the name of a corrupt Republic.

Powers and abilities

This doppelgänger was skilled in Form II lightsaber combat, just as the real Dooku had been, and he attacked Anakin Skywalker with small, concentrated bursts of Force lightning. Additionally, he had adopted the psychological warfare tactic known as Dun Möch, which he employed against Skywalker, only to result in backfiring on him.

Behind the scenes

Abel G. Peña has stated that the doppelgänger was not a clone, but was created using the Force, believing that clones have been overused as an explanation for inconsistent deaths.
