When a Jedi starship crash-landed near the settlement, Drop Canyon became the setting for a violent confrontation between the elders and youth of the village over the possession of a holocron. When the elders met to debate the matter, a group of armed youths from the village appeared to claim the holocron for the Sith. A brawl subsequently broke out, in which several of the adults were killed. The fight was interrupted by the appearance of a tattooed Sith, who seized the holocron, and then killed several of the youths as a "reward" for their "help".
The Sith Lord left the youth's ring-leader, Tenno, to the mercy of the village, but commanded the villagers not to touch him after he left.
