The E-Web heavy repeating blaster cannon, formally known as the Emplacement Weapon, Heavy Blaster or simply as the E-Web was the most powerful heavy repeating blaster cannon in the Imperial arsenal and commonly used by Imperial stormtroopers and clones of the Galactic Republic that came before it.
The E-Web featured rigid mounts to counteract the kinetic energy created by the weapon's formidable firepower, and was usually operated by a two-person crew. However, its set-up time limited its effectiveness. In consequence, various Imperial crews pre-charged its Class-4T3 power generator for faster assembly, however doing so required careful adjustment of the power flow to prevent an overload. The E-Web also had a scope that enabled improved accuracy for longer-range engagements.
An earlier variant of the E-Web in service near the end of the Clone Wars appeared to use a different tripod with two fore legs and one aft leg instead of one fore and two aft.
The E-Web was put into Galactic Republic service by the late days of the Clone Wars and remained in use as the Republic transitioned into the Galactic Empire. Earlier in the Clone Wars, another model of heavy blaster cannon had seen use by Republic forces, with that model seeing use since at least the Battle of Christophsis and continuing to see service all the way up to, at the very least, the Battle of Ringo Vinda. By the late Outer Rim Sieges, the E-Web had entered service. During the Conquest of Kaller, a clone trooper operated an E-Web that was deployed in one of the front line trenches where Jedi Master Depa Billaba and Clone Captain Grey took cover.
When the Imperial forces invaded Echo Base on Hoth, they used an E-Web heavy repeating blaster cannon in an attempt to prevent the Millennium Falcon from escaping. During a firefight on the moon of Quantxi, the massive bounty hunter Durge picked up and carried a E-Web to serve as his gun. Hoping to kill his enemies faster, Durge chose to do so because he was annoyed at how long the battle was taking.
After the Battle of Endor, E-Webs were used against New Republic shock troopers who were dropped from overhead ships during the hunt for Imperial warlords. Due to that tactic, E-Webs proved to be useful in firing upon dropping shock troopers, who would be vaporized in front of their comrades' very eyes before they had even hit the ground. A newer model of E-Web was constructed by 9 ABY and was utilized by Moff Gideon's remnant during a skirmish on Nevarro. In introducing the weapon, Gideon called upon former shock trooper Carasynthia Dune's memories of the E-Web to put fear into his enemies, further comparing the cannon to weaponry used in the Night of a Thousand Tears to scare the Mandalorian Din Djarin. However, once a firefight broke out, Djarin ended up claiming the cannon and using it against Gideon's forces.
