Eopie Roast

Eopie Roast was a dish created by the human chef Bakkar, proprietor of Ronto Roasters. It consisted of the seasoned roast rump of an eopie. After Bakkar allowed him to sample some Eopie Roast, the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs traded one of his best vibroknives to Bakkar in exchange for the recipe. Tuggs then published the recipe in his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook.

Description

Eopie Roast was a dish consisting of the rump of an eopie flavored with a special seasoning and roasted in an oven. It was edible to Artiodacs and humans and was served as a main course. The Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs described the dish as so tender that it melted in his mouth and called the way that the seasoning permeated the meat magical.

History

Eopie Roast was a creation of Bakkar.

Eopie Roast was a creation of Bakkar.

Eopie Roast was created, along with the special seasoning used in the dish, by the human chef Bakkar, proprietor of Ronto Roasters in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. At one point, he gave a slice of roasted eopie rump to the Strono Tuggs as a sample while Tuggs was dining at Ronto Roasters. The Artiodac, who had always been dubious of eating tough eopie meat due to the ill-tempered and flatulent nature of the creature, was so impressed by the tenderness and flavor of the sample that he asked Bakkar for the recipe. Although Bakkar was usually unwilling to part with his trade secrets, Tuggs convinced his fellow chef to share by trading him one of his best vibroknives in exchange for it.

Believing that he had gotten the better end of the deal, Tuggs then included the recipe in the main courses section of his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook, which he released at some point after his first cookbook was published in 34 ABY. He suggested that readers could not go wrong with Eopie Roast at any special event, including the Life Day festival.

Behind the scenes

Eopie Roast was created as a recipe for the 2021 Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe uses garlic cloves, packed light brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, pork loin, and fresh rosemary.
