Firefighter battle droid

History

During the Clone Wars, in 22 BBY, several firefighter battle droids served aboard the Malevolence, a Subjugator-class heavy cruiser that served as the flagship of General Grievous, where they attempted to extinguish the fires caused by damage the ship had sustained in an earlier battle. They were also deployed in one of the hangars when Senator Padmé Amidala's captured yacht self-destructed, though their attempts to put out the flaming wreck proved less than stellar.

During or after 34 ABY, R0-GR, the self-proclaimed last of the B1 battle droids, included the firefighter units in his book droidography. In the book, R0-GR claimed the firefighters were brave and that it was a result of them being from the B1-series.

Behind the scenes

Firefighter battle droids first appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars season one episode, "Destroy Malevolence," which aired on October 17, 2008.

Multiple sources state that the droids were 1.91 meters tall. However, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Character Encyclopedia - Join the Battle! states that the droids were 1.93 meters.

The firefighters droids' reflective paint stripes are meant to resemble a firefighter's uniform.
