Flame Towers were a type of anti-personnel turret that shot fire at attacking enemy ground forces, such as infantry or tanks. While Flame Towers were effective at crowd control against large numbers of relatively weak ground units such as B1-Series battle droids and porgs, they could not attack aerial units such as buzz droids or mynocks.
