A Force Wave, also known as a Force pulse, was a phenomenon of the Force. Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, a Force wave was released as a result of the destruction of the Fermata Cage and spread across the galaxy. As it rippled outward, Darth Sidious noted that his grip on the Force became tenuous. Later, when the Force wave returned, it caused a massive disturbance in the Force that caused Sly Moore and Darth Vader to lose control of their powers, with Vader devastating his immediate surroundings. Sidious, however, was able to take control of the Force once again due to his power in it. Vader managed to regain his control over the Force during a skirmish against the Scourge, in which he focused on his hatred and used his hate of himself to focus his abilities.
