In 11 ABY, during a battle between Imperial and New Republic forces, Fredja was the highest-ranking Imperial military officer present in the Maw Cluster due to the absence of Admiral Daala and her fleet. Although the captain used his authority over the installation's military assets to ensure the destruction of the main computer core, keeping its files from falling into the hands of the New Republic occupiers, he yielded control to Sivron upon evacuating to the Death Star prototype in an effort to evade the occupation force. Acting as the director's sole military advisor, Fredja argued against pursuing the Maw-developed superweapon the Sun Crusher stolen by Jedi aspirant Kyp Durron, but was unable to keep Sivron from succumbing to Durron's taunting, and perished with the rest of the personnel aboard the Death Star prototype when it was lured into a black hole.
