The Fusion Clouds of Tartaglia were a Mid Rim nebula located in the Hollan sector. No more than a year prior to 6 ABY, two Lambda-class shuttles carrying a group of tourists became stranded without fuel in the Fusion Clouds of Tartaglia, an incident that the author Ebenn Q3 Baobab noted in his book the Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide.
The Fusion Clouds of Tartaglia were a nebulosity located in the Tartaglia system, a part of the Hollan sector in the New Territories portion of the Mid Rim. Along with the rest of their star system, the Fusion Clouds of Tartaglia were linked via hyperlanes to the Asamin system in the Strabin sector, the Nicandra system in the sector of the same name, and the Vectinia system of the Hewett sector.
At some point no more than a year prior to 6 ABY, two private Lambda-class shuttles took a group of tourists on a chase after an annual migration of mynocks, a species of ergovorous creature that usually inhabited the vacuum of outer space, to wind turbines located on the asteroid Akatoa. Overenthusiastic demands from the tourists, who were taking pictures at the time, to the novice pilot of one of the shuttles led both craft to carelessly spin into the Fusion Clouds of Tartaglia, where they were stranded without fuel. The following year, the incident was noted by the author Ebenn Q3 Baobab in that year's edition of his book, the Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide.
The Fusion Clouds of Tartaglia were mentioned in the 2001 book Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, authored by Ben Burtt. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Tartaglia system, and therefore the Fusion Clouds of Tartaglia, in grid square M-7.
