Gannaria

Gannaria was a terrestrial planet located in the Trilon sector, a part of the Outer Rim Territories. Situated in grid square H-15 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it was linked by hyperspace routes to the Batuu and Zaddja systems and shared its name with the route known as the Gannarian Run.

For centuries, Gannaria hosted trade in illegal spice. Smugglers traveling illegally to and from the planet found the Black Spire Outpost on the nearby world Batuu, which was visited by off-worlders much more frequently than Gannaria, to be a convenient stop on their trips. The human First Order stormtrooper HF-3311, who was born in 10 ABY, hailed from Gannaria.

The historian Eloc Throno eventually included a brief mention of Gannaria in his book Traveler's Guide to Batuu. In 34 ABY, several screens aboard Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon displayed a partial map of the galaxy that indicated Gannaria's position.

Gannaria was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set. Gannaria's first in-universe appearance came in the form of being depicted on a map viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida that opened to the public on March 1, 2022.

The Gannaria system was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. The Clone Wars: Act on Instinct, a webcomic authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released on StarWars.com over the span of the 2009–2010 second season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, featured the first appearance of the star system.
