The Geonosian spear was a melee weapon produced by Gordarl Weaponsmiths on Geonosis, and commonly used by Geonosian warriors.
The Geonosian spear measured approximately 1.8 meters in length, and was crafted from hollow bone coated with a protective resin. These weapons were designed to fend off large predators, and came to be used in gladiatorial arenas such as the Petranaki arena, to control creatures and prisoners. Since the spear was sharp enough to pierce tough hide and thick fur, wielders trained to strike a beast's most vulnerable area—such as the soft underside of the reek's neck.
The Geonosian spear had been superseded by the electrically-charged static pike by the time of the First Battle of Geonosis, though the traditional spear was still in use among sentries and warriors on Geonosis.
