A ghostwave was a form of encryption developed by the New Republic. Each transmission of the CIS Shadowfeed was encrypted by hand, then dispatched over a untraceable beam of energy, called a ghostwave. The ghostwave attached itself to a random advertisement transmissions, allowing it to be broadcast over the HoloNet.
