The Grand Hall of the Pijali monarchy was located within the royal palace on the Inner Rim planet Pijal. The hall was located next to the throne room of the Pijali monarch and had a viewscreen. By the time of the Republic Era, a guard working for the royal guard captain Deren was stationed at the hall's viewscreen to monitor the increasingly violent attacks blamed on the Opposition performance troupe.
While working in the Grand Hall in 40 BBY, the guard watched an explosion destroy a Czerka Corporation factory on Pijal's moon—an attack that was secretly conducted by blackguards loyal to Pijal's crown princess, Fanry. The guard informed Pijal's Jedi Lord Regent Rael Averross of the attack and the Opposition's alleged involvement, prompting him and his courtiers to enter the Grand Hall and view recordings of the destruction. Averross, outraged by what he had seen, asked a communications officer stationed in the hall to contact the Jedi Council for assistance finding the perpetrators.
