Several centuries prior to 43 ABY, Gulvitch was colonized by members of the Bagmim and Povanarian species, which originated on the nearby worlds of Xochtl and Povanaria, respectively. By that year, Gulvitch was a struggling colony that was only visited by spacers who had been experiencing misfortunes and were looking for inexpensive cargoes to pick up.
